Julien FONDREVELLE is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering of INSA Lyon (National Institute of Applied Sciences) at University of Lyon, France.
He received his engineering diploma from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy and his DEA (M.Sc. degree) in Industrial Systems Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in 2002. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in 2005.
Generally speaking, his research activities deal with modelling, analyzing and optimizing value-adding complex systems, for their design, configuration and management. Tools, techniques and methods used stem from industrial engineering (modelling, simulation and operational research).

He has been the Head of Industrial Engineering Department at INSA Lyon since September 2015.
As an Associate Professor at Industrial Engineering Department, INSA Lyon, he is in charge of a course about Probabilities and Statistics. He also co-teaches a project dealing with Scheduling and Flow Management. He also used to teach Linear Programming, Graph Theory, Advanced Optimization techniques, Multicriteria decision support systems and Problem solving methodologies.
